Maker of the Stars drawing near

Maker of the Stars

You astound me
the Maker of the stars
caring enough to draw
near and seek our hearts

You, who have made everything.

You, in whom the whole world
goes round, drawing near
for our hearts, our hands.

What do you see in us?

What do you see in mankind
that speaks to your heart
that causes you to
rend the heavens
and come near?

King and Master
humbling himself
to walk as man
among us.

It is we who should be humbled
that you seek our hand yet
more, our hearts,
to dwell with yours.

Why do we treat you so lightly?

You, are Lord.

Teach us to revere you.
