Sing whatever makes your heart sing – sing the song that comes from the joy of being in His Presence.

Dear Ones,

It is my great joy and honour to share with you what I have gleaned these last seven years of pursuing and being pursued by the Lord Jesus Christ.  It has been a great journey of discovery.  A journey of learning joy in sorrow, knowing beauty in ashes, seeing and understanding and growing in grace and humility and surrender in all circumstances including that of pain and questioning.  What I have learned, what I have heard from sitting at His feet, I share with you here within these posts.

I have not always heard from Him so clearly.  In fact, when I started this journey, I did not understand what it meant to be still and sit in His Presence or that it was possible to hear from Him.  All I knew was that I was hungry for more.  Hungry for more than what I had had up to this point.  Hungry for more of Him.

My journey began upon meeting a dear soul through what can only be called a divine encounter.  As we got to know one another she shared with me her faith story and her encounters with our Living Lord.  As I listened, a fire was sparked within me.  I realized that despite my having grown up in the church and having been very active in it including holding various leadership positions, I did not know our Lord in the ways she knew Him.  I did not have an intimate relationship with Him. I did not know that such levels of discovery of His Presence and all that it brings was even possible.

He lit His fire within me as I listened to what she shared.  As I grew to know her more and saw her live her life, saw her biblical faith and Christ-like love, humility and service and honour for Him, and heard and saw her stories of life lived hand-in-hand with His, my heart yearned for more.  I too wanted to know Him like she knew Him.  And now that I knew it was possible, my journey of pursuing Him, running hard after Him began in earnest.

It is true what the Scriptures say, “you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord…” (Jeremiah 29:13-14a).

King David knew what life lived by and in and through His Presence was all about.  He declares in Psalm 63 verses 1-6:

“O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.  I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.  Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.  I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.  My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.”

This, what is recorded in this Psalm, is what I have been discovering on my own intimate journey with the Lord.  In the process I am learning who the Father is.  I am learning who the Holy Spirit is.  And I am learning more about who Jesus – the Son of God and the Messiah, is.

And as I have run after Him, He has turned toward me.  As I have cried out to Him for ears to hear, for eyes to see, for a heart to understand, He has tested me – how hungry am I truly?  It has not been an easy journey but dear Ones, I can say with all my heart that it has been worth it!  He is worth it!

This blog is meant to encourage you and to spark that same hunger within you as He sparked it within me.  Seek Him. Pursue Him. Let Him blow open your mindsets – be willing to lay them down for all that He has to reveal to you about Himself, even as you test the spirit behind what you hear and see to ensure it holds up to His standard as revealed in Scripture.  His Presence is beyond joy – truly, He IS joy.

“You have made known to me the path of life; In your Presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11
